In this context, the former prince and traitor to the Reef, Uldren Sov, leading a house of rogue undead Fallen pirates known as the Scorn, conducts a massive Fallen breakout from the prison.
Cayde-6, a former Exo guardian and a hunter vanguard, is murdered by Uldren in a battle inside the Prison of Elders. Thus, your mission as the Guardian is to avenge his death. Finally, the paths will lead you to the Dreaming City, a mysterious awoken land.
Forsaken is mainly focused on a full campaign that features dozens of main story quests and side quests. Besides, the game introduces four new multiplayer strike missions, four new Crucible maps, and a new mode that blends elements of PvE and PvP.
Furthermore, this expansion has a new Crucible mode called “Breakthrough.” Here, two teams fight to control a map's central point known as a “Breaker."
The mode that combines PvE and PvP is “Gambit.” There, two teams of four players must compete against each other by killing PvE enemies. They drop motes, which you can pick up and deposit in the bank located in the central area. After depositing 25 motes, a portal opens, and a team member can attack the enemy’s arena.
When your team deposit 75 motes, a boss - Primeval - appears in the middle of the Arena. The first team that defeats the Primeval wins.
